Love and Torah – what’s love got to do with it? This study series is based on the “Two Great Commands” – love Yahweh and love your neighbor.
There’s a lot of discussion out there between the different groups who claim to believe in the Creator and His Messiah, but have completely different perspectives from their belief. Almost all of the groups believe it is all about love, so the question becomes what does that look like? What is the action to be taken? In this teaching series, Love & Torah, Rabbi Steve Berkson brings clarity from the Scripture the answer to that question.
Now that we’ve finished going through Psalm 119 where the focus is on the concept of loving Elohim, Rabbi Berkson now starts explaining the concept of loving each other.
The Gospel of John chapter 15 provides a great place begin this journey as we see Messiah Yeshua is teaching His disciples using some agricultural metaphors to get His message into their hearts about the relationship He expects.
• What is the “gap” between the Gardener and the Vine?
• What is pruning? How does it apply to you?
• If Messiah Yeshua referred to Himself as the “True Vine”, could there be false vines?
• Why did Messiah Yeshua say, “Stay in Me…”?
• Why is the verse (15:3) about being clean because of the Word in there?
• What is a direct-download from the Ruach?
• Do you need to pray before doing anything?
• What is “Vertical Awareness”?
Rabbi Berkson once again dissects the words in these passages so that you will have a deeper understanding of what Yah expects of you, so that you can do it and receive the blessings.
