Denver Broncos decision to not to trade for Matthew Stafford reveals focus on importance of draft capital

The Detroit Lions traded Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams over the weekend in exchange for two future first-round picks and a mid-round pick + Jared Goff. The Denver Broncos inquired with the Lions about what it would take to acquire Stafford, but new Broncos GM George Paton determined that what Detroit was asking for, was simply too much than what Denver felt comfortable parting ways with.
