Subtypes are one of the top three reasons you’re being mistyped.
Subtypes are emotional patterns: a passion, vice, and/or a basic human instinct.
Listen now
As a reminder, the subtypes fall into three categories: Self preservation, social, and one-to-one
We use all three of these, but one is definitely dominant. They help to describe our core concern or focus of our everyday lives and explain how we show up in the world. And they’re just as important as our main type!
Today I’m going to breakdown all 27 of these subtypes
Instincts get triggered into action throughout the day and are the main drivers of our types. The reason the subtypes are so important is once you know a person’s instinctual subtypes, you can understand even more about their motivations and why they do what they do.
The last one in the stack of subtypes is our blind spot
For example, because social is at the bottom of my stack as an 8, it’s my blind spot. Knowing this, I have to intentionally be aware of how this is important and shows up for other people I love and lead.
Understanding the full depth of our core personality
To be the most well-rounded versions of ourselves, it’s great to be aware of where all three of our subtypes rank and how to give love and bring awareness to the one at the bottom of the stack.
