81. Finding Hope After Suicide with Kayla Stoecklein
Today on the show we had the absolute honor to share a conversation with Kayla Stoecklein. Kayla is a mom to three adorable little boys and she lives in southern California. A lot of you are probably familiar with her story as it’s reached the masses over the last few years, but some of you might not be.
Kayla’s story has to do with mental illness, suicide, and ultimately finding hope through loss. As Corey and I were discussing this topic for February I knew that we needed to have Kayla come on.
Kayla’s husband, Andrew struggled deeply with anxiety and depression and ultimately died by suicide—and Kayla fearlessly and graciously shares her story with us today. She also has a book that both Corey and I read, sharing all about their battle through this journey.
Mental illness is real you guys. If you are struggling or know someone who is, please know we take that very seriously . You are always welcome to reach out to us, but also there are resources where you can get help from professionals out there and we have put them in the show notes below.
We want to highly encourage you to read her book and learn more about this topic.
But also, grab your outline for this month’s focus topic if you haven’t already at the link below and take notes because even if mental illness or suicide is not something that you deal with directly, there are so many powerful themes throughout Kayla’s story that we can all learn from and apply to our own lives to help us push through when those dark days come.
As always, thanks so much for listening, we love you all, and thank you so very much Kayla for taking the time to share your story with us.
