Of course, most of you know that February is love month---here in the United States. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner---but I thought I would put a new spin on this Hallmark holiday.
Because traditionally Valentine’s Day is all about showing others how much you love and care for them---with gifts and chocolates and spending extra time. But what about you? How do you love and care for yourself? And are you spending quality time with yourself these days? I got to thinking about this a lot---because I needed more of this for myself in my life. And I’ve done that successfully---even when it wasn’t, “love” month. But that is kind of the point of this episode.
Learning to love yourself no matter what season of life you’re in---and if you think about it, how often do you think about yourself in a loving positive way? Chances are if you do, it’s very rare. We all have those days where we wake up and feel super confident in ourselves---and we’re ready to take on the day. When we feel good about ourselves---we’re more likely to take better care of our mental, emotional, and physical health, right? We want to keep up on those things.
But then, like the humans we are, we have other days where we’d rather crawl into bed and not even come close to any reflective surface, self-loathe, and eat junk food. I get it, I’ve been there, done that. The truth is---and we’ve all heard this a time or two. We have to love ourselves first before we can love our lives. We have to fill up our own cups before the overflow can fill others. So my goal today is to give you some useful, practical ways of how to love yourself more. Because when we love ourselves, we embrace anything and everything that comes with being who we truly are.
So let’s dive into some helpful ways you can begin to love yourself more...
