Pregnant and Made Redundant. Here’s What to Look For!
Send us a text
Hi Everyone
We hope you are continuing to pursue your right to be fairly treated at work, as the number of redundancies continue to rise.
Now, here at ERO, we appreciate that businesses have to make tough decisions at this time, and this will inevitably include people being made redundant. Were we have concerns however, is not with the decisions businesses need to take… but how those decisions are executed.
This week we bring you a case of a worker who was never told she was going to be made redundant and instead, thought she had a job and was merely furloughed because of covid. The worker was pregnant and believed the employer chose her for redundancy because of her pregnancy, which if true, would be illegal under the Equality Act 2010.
You can refer to the show notes where you’re listening to this podcast, for any additional help you may need with raising a complaint about unfair treatment at work.
