The weather disaster in Texas is gaining new urgency, with many people fighting to survive in their own homes. There are still widespread power outages for a fourth day in a row, though it has been restored in many areas. The food supply is disrupted in parts of the state, causing scarcity at some food banks and grocery stores. And now, nearly a quarter of Texans are under boil water advisories because treatment plants are down. As Texans suffer, politicians and power industry officials are blaming each other for the failure. A study says the COVID variant first found in South Africa reduces antibody protection from the Pfizer vaccine by about two-thirds. Pfizer says there's still no clinical evidence its vaccine is less effective against the variant, but they are working on a booster shot. CBS News has learned the White House and congressional Democrats will unveil a bill today that would reshape the laws to provide a long-promised path to citizenship for most of the undocumented in this country. Many leading Republicans are paying tribute to conservative radio icon Rush Limbaugh, who died of lung cancer yesterday.
