Today we're speaking to Kristina Aran, a mental health counselor, a disability rights advocate, a career coach, writer, and entrepreneur. She's the founder of a vegan, non-toxic, cruelty-free skincare line called ATARA skincare. Kristina immigrated to the United States from the former USSR at the age of 16. She was always fascinated with the study of the human mind and behavior. She pursued her studies in psychology and got a master's degree in mental health counseling from NYU. Kristina stresses the importance of committing to self-care, healing, and moving forward, mentally, through this time of COVID-19.

Peace is so important to find that equanimity, you know, in the middle of the chaos that's happening, it's a skill. And it's an acquired skill, I think it's something that takes probably for some people a lifetime to acquire and to master you know, and it's also part of self-care, a huge part of it, because mental health is not just feelings, your emotions, and you know, your behavior, mental health, everything that you allow to affect you. - Kristina
