In Episode 17, Sandy discusses with guest Lisa Ash Drackert how an informed teaching curriculum equips and supports yoga teachers and students within the study and application of the yoga practice. Lisa bases her curriculum on the Yoga Sutras to support a solid teaching curriculum foundation along with the understanding that teaching yoga is like teaching another language.
Lisa Ash Drackert is a teacher, dreamer, and adventure lover who believes the world would be a better place if everyone meditated and kissed doggies daily. As a life-long educator, Lisa is motivated to share the life-giving teachings of yoga when she sees students empowered to heal their lives and undergo a spiritual and physical transformation. She specializes in Meditation, Therapeutic Yoga, Alignment Based Yoga, and Vinyasa Flow Yoga. Lisa Ash Drackert began teaching yoga in 2008 and completed her RYT-500 credentials through the Interdisciplinary Institute of Yoga Studies in 2015. She completed her eRYT-500 in 2018 through Yoga Medicine®, with her teacher, Tiffany Cruikshank, and she is a Yoga Medicine® Therapeutic Specialist. Her background includes university degrees in Education, Psychology, and Religious Studies. She also holds a Masters in Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. When she’s not teaching, she’s on the trails with her husband Mike, their daughter Eden and their fur-baby Russell Clive.
