What is up guys this is James from the ALT Insider Podcast this is nice to have you here for the true first episode of the ALT Insider Podcast. So today is a little simple episode of five ways that you could be a better ALT today so if you are listening to this on your way to work there are five things that you can literally do today to make sure you can be a better ALT. When I say be a better ALT when I say be a better ALT I mean an ALT have more fun because that is the ultimate goal and that is what is going to make you have the best time in Japan which is what I know you want to be doing. 1. Is greet people more; greet people more. Sounds so easy right? I can already guess you probably say hi as a must when you walk in the teacher’s room or at least I hope you do! I mean taking it to the next level, instead of just saying it when you walk in the room saying good morning everyone I mean go to the principal’s office and say good morning. I am not saying have a big conversation with him because I do not like doing that either; a lot of the Principals are pretty boring you might find a cool one if you are lucky but just say good morning to him. Go to the vice principal and say good morning; go to the kind of office and say hi to them. Go find ways to make sure everyone knows you are there and this opens the avenue for you to maybe arrive a little bit later when you do not have a class. Maybe leave a little bit earlier when you do not have a class; this is the way you get to make it habit because you show around you that you are a part of the school, I am here I am saying Hi to everybody I am a cool guy to be with. I do not mean just the teachers either it is really a good idea to greet as many students as you can also any day you teach in your schools. So I know so many ALT’s that like to stand in front of the gate and greet all the students there, I mean that is a nice thing to do. For me it gets a little cold in the winter so I only do it in the summer but I do it a few times as well if I am at the school early enough. The other way to do this is wait by the shoe’s box where they keep their shoes that is a way to do it. It is not as cold and still just as effective. The other thing you can do is also take a trip around the school, you can always find a reason to walk around so it is a really good idea to say good morning to other students when you walk around get them more excited for you class,
