Rachel Yankey: What's stopping the progress of elite female coaches
Arsenal legend Rachel Yankey was the first professional female player registered in England, and went on to became one of the country’s most successful and well known footballers.
She became England’s most capped playing in 2013, beating Peter Shilton’s record with 129 caps.
Having played in the UK for Arsenal, Fulham and Birmingham City Rachel Yankey’s honours include five Premier League Championships, two Women’s Super League Championships, 11 FA Women’s Cups, 7 Women’s Premier League Cups, 1 UEFA Women’s Cup. She also played at the London 2012 Olympics.
In 2017 Rachel was inducted into the National Football Museum in 2017. She received an MBE in 2006 and an OBE in 2014 for services to football and coaching.
