Finding the Joy | Gemma’s Freebirth after Cesarean
During labor with her first baby, Gemma’s midwives transferred her from home to the hospital due to her waters being opened “too long.” This experienced ended as it so often does in a coerced, unnecessary surgical birth.
Gemma got extremely clear during her second pregnancy on the kind of support she wanted, and found a radical birth keeper to support her autonomy. She gave birth to her posterior, ten pound son wildly and freely in her own home, with only her partner and family present.
Just four months postpartum at the time of recording, she shares how healing this experience was for her, and the joy she’s found in motherhood. Thank you Gemma, for sharing this beautiful story!
