Moment of Meditation: Gospel Preached to All Nations (Matthew 24:14)
''And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come (Matthew 24:14).''
Much ink has also been spilt about what Christians have to do so that Jesus will come back sooner. This verse is often used for mission festivals that Jesus cannot come back until the Gospel has been preached to every nation on earth.
This is the "deepest, darkest Africa" argument. Unfortunately for America, we've lost our Christian distinctiveness. The "deepest, darkest" continent in the world is becoming North America. The fastest-growing Christian continent is Africa. Missionaries from Africa will soon be coming to "deepest, darkest" America to preach the Gospel.
The Gospel of the kingdom is proclaimed in our midst every Sunday at faithful congregations like Trinity. The Gospel saves because it is the testimony of Christ and His salvation to every nation. Ours included. Amen.
