On this episode, we go big, with none other than Glen “Big Baby” Davis. Coming up as a manchild from Louisiana, Big Baby proved he could hoop with his unique combination of size and mobility. When he got to the pro level, he quickly figured out that to really make it, he’d have to use his unorthodox makeup to find his place in the league. Thankfully, he landed on a Boston team that was in win-now mode, and demanded its role players to get in where they fit in.
For Gil, Big Baby was exactly the kind of guy you want on your roster -- does whatever he has to do for the team to win, doesn’t back down and will shine in his role. From there, Baby knew how to have fun and be himself. That Boston team had the big three, but they also had a team of personalities that became a brotherhood. That’s winning culture. There haven’t been too many players like Big Baby, and looking at what he’s done with basketball, he definitely deserves some more shine.
