Zac holds a degrees from Auburn University and a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management from the University of California Berkeley. His research interests include popular education, The American South, and Just Sustainability, among other subjects, and he has published on food justice and racial and socio-economic disparity in the South. In 2019, Zac published his book Memoirs of a Mad Redneck with Guillotine Press. Futhermore, he holds an Automotive Service Excellence Certification in Brakes and runs the Automotive Free Clinic.
