On today's show, Cody Roark (@CodyRoarkNFL) discusses the impact of the Denver Broncos re-signing star Free Safety Justin Simmons to a four-year contract extension while also adding veteran Cornerback Kyle Fuller, formerly of the Chicago Bears. The moves that the Broncos and new General Manager George Paton have made have shifted the needle amongst the division in the AFC West.
Cody discusses the impact of the Broncos decision to re-sign Justin Simmons, what it means for the Broncos defense, the community of Denver, and why Paton viewed Simmons as the top priority for him this off-season.
Cody then gives his thoughts on the sudden positive shift in view of the team's culture as told to him by Broncos players with the work that George Paton has done in his first two months on the job, and the possibility of Kareem Jackson returning to the team on a potential one year deal.
The signing of Kyle Fuller helps fulfill one of the Broncos most significant needs this off-season. Cody discusses Fuller's history with Broncos Head Coach Vic Fangio and defensive coordinator Ed Donatell, the projected starting lineup on the defensive side of the ball, and what Fuller can bring to the table for the organization.
Cody closes out the show by diving into his latest Mock Draft that he used with the Pro Football Network Mock Draft Simulator -- with the Broncos filling their needs at cornerback in Free Agency, Micah Parsons was the best option for Denver at pick number 9. Denver then addressed safety in round two, brought into another running back in round three, added CB depth in round four, and then received two additional fifth-round picks trading with the Atlanta Falcons. Cody discusses the impact of these moves as it sets the table for the 2021 NFL season.
