An office manager on day two of our training said to me, "I went home and told my husband that I knew I wasn't crazy. I knew there had to be a better way to present treatment, and actually get paid fairly for it. Not just with PPO insured plans, but also with our fee-for-service patients too." We contrast the above office manager with one that has done all she can to tell our MPMB rep how wrong we are with offering choice and being paid fairly for better, more expensive technology. How what we do is illegal with PPO contracts, and how we shouldn't give patients choice, and charge for it, when it comes to better products and services that are more expensive. Her doctor makes enough and can afford to give it away to their patients. Wow! I wonder if she would work for her doc one day a week for free to help him pay for his patient's dental care...probably not! Which office manager would you want working for you? As a patient, wouldn't you like the choice of better material and advances in technology, even if it might cost you more out of pocket? And did you know dental insurance plans allow you to charge the patient for their choices? Read you contracts my friends, and stop paying for your patient's dentistry!
