Episode 146 - Hope for the Mom who is Brokenhearted with Pat Kenney
“He is the God of comfort and the ultimate comfort is the hope we have for our future.” Today we continue our Moms in the Bible Series as Stacy talks with Pat Kenney, the Moms in Prayer North East Division Coordinator. Listen in as she shares hope for the brokenhearted, through looking at Mary, the mother of Jesus.

She has been praying for her children/granddaughter and schools through MIP since her daughters were in elementary school. Scripture:
Scriptures on Mary found in Luke 1-2
Psalm 34:18 (NLT) The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
Luke 2:19 (NIV) But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.
Luke 2: 25-35 (NLT) At that time there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon. He was righteous and devout and was eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come and rescue Israel. The Holy Spirit was upon him and had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. That day the Spirit led him to the Temple. So when Mary and Joseph came to present the baby Jesus to the Lord as the law required, Simeon was there. He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying, “Sovereign Lord, now let your servant die in peace, as you have promised. I have seen your salvation, which you have prepared for all people.
He is a light to reveal God to the nations, and he is the glory of your people Israel!” Jesus’ parents were amazed at what was being said about him. Then Simeon blessed them, and he said to Mary, the baby’s mother, “This child is destined to cause many in Israel to fall, and many others to rise. He has been sent as a sign from God, but many will oppose him. As a result, the deepest thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your very soul.”
John 19:25-27 (NLT) Standing near the cross were Jesus’ mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary (the wife of Clopas), and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother standing there beside the disciple he loved, he said to her, “Dear woman, here is your son.” And he said to this disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from then on this disciple took her into his home.
Acts 1:14 (NLT) They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.
Psalm 28:7 (NIV) The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
