In the latest pod sports broadcaster, and Singapore Spurs tragic Shehzad Haque hosts alongside his Madrid CL final travel mate and Cheese Room OzSpur Mr. Jolly, with a debut by long time Spurs fan, and fellow Singapore based broadcaster Andrew Leci, whose father was on the books at Spurs many moons ago and whose grandfather was a ST holder for 67 years. The podders discuss the Jose inspired “That’s Beautiful” scrap between Hugo and Sonny, as well as the key aspects of a mostly turgid game including team selection changes, Moussa and Winsky in midfield, as well as how well Dier is playing at the back, or not. There’s also discussion of how Andrew enjoys playing the “Ben Davies Drinking Game” where he skulls some wine for every Davies backward pass. Spoiler - he often gets fairly pissed up!
The lads also wax lyrical on the joyous future of Giovanni Lo Celso, during which Mr. Jolly suggests GLC is Lamela with a brain and Andrew expresses his Lamela loathing via gasps of disbelief, followed by veiled threats. Finally, there’s time for a deep dive into Andrew’s Spurs background, and a rapid fire quiz to see if he’s as smart as he made out when we recruited him. Teaser - he is! Then, in a post pod recording coda we hear Andrew tersely correct Mr. Jolly for his pronunciation of Jose’s name during the pod, referring to him as a redneck Aussie bogan, while Mr. J announces he’s gonna "keep on mispronouncing Jose until he actually wins something with us" before telling Andrew where to stick it. What fun!
