Scarcity is a proven means of getting people to take action. This success principle dictates that we are more likely to want the things we are being offered if we feel they're running out or are in short supply. This is the sixth and final podcast in Jane’s series about the work of Robert Cialdini, who wrote the pioneering book: Influence, the Psychology of Persuasion. This law can be seen from children fighting over teddy bears, to people who make themselves ‘valuable rather than available’. A key takeaway is - if you want someone to value you and pay you what you’re worth - make them work for your time and attention!
