Welcome to The Open Door! This week we talk politics with a decided emphasis on the experience of a member of the American Solidarity serving on a midwestern town council and the California gubernatorial campaign of another member. No special guests, just our regular panel!
Among the questions we'll consider are the following. Please feel free to suggest others.
1. What is political subsidiarity?
2. Context counts! How does subsidiarity come into play in Hartford, Ohio? And how does it come into play in California?
3. Does subsidiarity encourage what's now called "localism"?
4. How can we encourage interest in local government?
5. Does subsidiarity rule out governmental centralization?
6. What is political solidarity? What might be some examples of it?
7. There's a distinction between "flag-wavers" and patriots. What is it?
8. If a member of the American Solidarity Party finds a seat on his Town Council how does he keep that seat?
9. Barring God's direct intervention, no member of the American Solidarity Party will find employment as the Governor of California. Why, then, should the host of The Open Door campaign for the job?
10. What does one learn, even in early days, about such a campaign?
