Moment of Meditation: Wicked Servant (Matthew 24:43-44)

''But if that wicked servant says to himself, 'My master is delayed,' and begins to beat his fellow servants and eats and drinks with drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites (Matthew 24:48-51).''

A wicked servant is one that is unprepared for his master's return. A wicked servant actually abuses his fellow servants.

Jesus likens this abusive servant to those Christians who don't care about their fellow Christians. Who boil everything down to where nothing matters anymore in the faith. Those Christians barely deserve the name Christian. They don't wish to bear Christ's name. Nor do they wish to build up their fellow Christians.

Be prepared for Christ's return. Don't abuse your fellow Christians. Build each other up in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It truly matters more than anything else. Amen.
