S2E33: Phantom of the Opera (1943)

Our journey through UNIVERSAL MONSTER month continues with a bit of an oddity: Phantom of the Opera. It’s got Claude Rains. There are musical numbers—not enough to be a musical, but perhaps too many for a movie that’s pointedly not a musical—and cool stunts, and beautiful set pieces. We’re still not sure how we feel. All we know is that the episode was such fun.
