Moment of Meditation: Not Enough Oil (Matthew 25:7-9)
''Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' But the wise answered, saying, 'Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves' (Matthew 25:7-9).''
When the eternal Bridegroom Jesus Christ comes to bring the dawn of the eternal Day, everyone will be brought before Him. And everyone will trim their lamps with the oil of their faith.
The foolish ask the wise to borrow some of their oil. But no one can borrow faith from anyone else. Everyone will be judged fit for entrance into the eternal wedding feast on the basis of their own faith.
But Jesus also says, "If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed" (Matthew 17:20). It doesn't take much faith. Only faith in Jesus' death and resurrection for you. Faith in His atoning sacrifice on the cross.
That is all that is necessary for you to enter Heaven. Faith in His forgiveness of your sins. Forgiveness proclaimed in every Gospel message. Amen.
