Join us as we chat with Sensei John Gage, an all around martial artist, a 7th Dan in Nihon Jujutsu, 4th Dan in Judo - International Martial Arts Federation (IMAF) and 3rd Dan Judo in All Japan Judo Federation (AJJF) system. Sensei Gage is one of the world's foremost non-Japanese leaders in traditional, heritage martial arts and currently the head of the aforementioned Nihon Jujutsu system. In 1986, he moved to Japan in order to dedicate himself to the study of traditional Japanese martial arts and upon arrival in Tokyo, Gage-Sensei joined the US Embassy Judo Club under Sensei Sato Shizuya. In 1989 Sensei Gage received the Bokon Korosho - an award for contributions to the martial arts, and in 1999 placed 1st in the IMAF International Kata Contest. Currently he is a contributor to the Nihon Jujutsu manual, and an editor to the IMAF Gendo newsletter.
