Dr. Franchini has a Ph.D. in Physical Education and is an Associate Professor at the school of physical education and sport at the University of Sao Paulo.
He is the coordinator of martial arts and combat sports research group where he and his team have been conducting research in combat sports since 1995.
He is also a strength and conditioning consultant to a number of Olympic and World Championship Judokas, as well as being a 2nd Dan Black Belt himself.
