E011: How To Avoid Being 'Average' & Find Your Purpose Later In Life with RAF Pilot Nigel Johnson
Nigel Johnson is a 46-year-old flying instructor in the RAF.
He started a journey when he turned 40 which has changed his life. Starting with running a 5k for charity with his daughter, this snowballed into ever bigger events, including marathons and Ironman triathlon.
He has raised well over £12,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, in memory of his mum who died in 2000, so far. His current challenge, scheduled for June 2021, is a unique 9 day, 9 triathlons, 900-mile journey from John O'Groats to Land's End (TriJOGLE). He hopes to top £29,000 by completing this event, which will provide 1,000 hours of Macmillan nursing support.
We talk about how to start living with more purpose and challenge, inspire others and eliminate excuses to achieve goals, no matter how late you start!
