Episode 38: Zero COVID or else, with developmental biologist Dr. Gosia Gasperowicz (Part 2)

Back in early February, just days after Alberta entered into Stage One of its so-called reopening plan, we welcomed developmental biologist Dr. Gosia Gasperowicz to the show. She was sounding the alarm that lifting what few restrictions we did have would result in a massive third wave of COVID-19, especially with the incoming and growing variant strains.

Well, here we are in early May and Alberta is smack in the middle of the worst wave yet and the worst current situation in North America. But don’t worry, because vaccines are here and it’ll all be over soon, right?

Not so fast. Dr. Gasperowicz joins us again this week to discuss not only the catastrophe we are mired in now but why the vaccine is unlikely to be enough to end the pandemic any time soon.

It’s a hard subject to discuss and/or hear these days but there has never been a more important time to stay focused on COVID-19 as right now.
