Moment of Meditation: Least of These (Matthew 25:40)
''And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me' (Matthew 25:40).''
Jesus' words about the greatest and least often leave us scratching our heads. Especially when He talks about the greatest and least in the kingdom of Heaven.
But on the Last Day, believers will be known for their work even among the least. Whether you know their name or not. Jesus counts that service as if it had been done for Him.
Hebrews points this out wonderfully, "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares" (13:2). Many Christmas stories have this theme of angels being welcomed by unsuspecting people. But this attitude of service needs to be done all year round. Because '''YOU''' are one of the least of these for whom Jesus died. Amen.
