Moment of Meditation: Picky Deeds (Matthew 25:44-46)
Original Broadcast: June 2014
''Then they also will answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?' Then he will answer them, saying, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.' And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life" (Matthew 25:44-46).''
Those who will be cursed on the Last Day refused to serve some. Whether it's because of their race, color, religion or sexual orientation, no one is allowed to refuse to serve these people. In most cases, these are the "least of these" that Jesus seeks to save. When we refuse to serve anyone, we refuse to serve Jesus.
Unfortunately, there may be many Christians who hear these horrible words on the Last Day. And this is cause for great concern in God's Church. Satan has brought so much into our own lives that we buy into his lies that there are some who are unworthy of our service. But no one is unworthy of your service.
Serve everyone you come into contact with without prejudice. Jesus came and served you with salvation without prejudice. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). Jesus has served everyone with His sacrifice on the Cross. Amen.
