For the first episode of the Late Night History podcast I am joined by my friend Alex West, the founder of the non-profit One More Wave and a former Navy SEAL who served 11 years at the Naval Special Warfare Development Group.
Episode 1 highlights:
1). American history between baseballs and hand grenades.
2). Alex's fascinating upbringing as a son of expats living in South Africa and Egypt, which included climbing a pyramid!
3). Navy SEAL training history.
4). SEAL Team 3 and participating in the invasions of Afghanistan (2001) and Iraq (2003).
5). Food experiences unlike any other — hunting reindeer with modern day Vikings in Norway, the amazing pancake station in Iraq, and not-so appetizing meals in Somalia.
6). Navy SEAL swagger in the Vietnam War and the China Beach Surf Club.
7). One More Wave and all of the amazing work this non-profit has accomplished since 2015.
