The crew of the Sojourn awaken to find that a UPP vessel has landed on their destination world, LV-832, before their arrival. The seeding ship they are there to support has called in support and the W-Y rep has wangled USCMC assistance. As the crew land to check the safety, security and productivity of the new colony, Reddy's Prospect, they find that all is not as simple as originally planned....
