Living my life with purpose with Marie Cronnelly
Episode 25 and my guest this week is Marie Cronnelly from Athenry in Co. Galway. Marie works as a mindfulness and meditation practitioner for adults and children online and in person, but more importantly is the Mum to her 10 year old son Riley.
We spoke about being the only young female boxer in her local club and later on doing some modelling and becoming more aware of herself and her insecurities. Returning to education as a mature student was a dream fulfilled for Maire whilst She faced the inner critic head on. Marie shares how she had a great support network all through her life, but maybe at times didn't realise it until She really needed it the most and learning that her vulnerability was not a sign of weakness.
An emotional Marie speaks of the loss of her Mum and how special the time spent with her, especially in the last few days of her Mum's life really helped her realise the gifts her Mother had given her. She also shares how her marriage break-up in the space of only a few short weeks after her Mum's passing impacted her life. With a big proud smile, Marie tells us how her Dad helped her to work through their grief together through powerlifting and how he encouraged her to find her inner strength.
Marie's intention is to now empower children to build confidence, resilience and encourage them to achieve anything they want in life. You can read more of Marie's story in Awaken Your Wellbeing, a book in which She was one of the co-authors, it was published in November 2020 and all proceeds go to Galway Simon Community to help prevent homelessness.
