Today, we speak with Alan Wing, Commercial Regional Manager for the Western U.S. at Sigura Water. He handles both Pulsar and CCH® which are both cal-hypo sanitizing systems for pools. He has been in the pool industry for over 30 years, having started his career cleaning pools in Seattle before becoming a sales rep for a pool store, where he steadily built his knowledge on pools.
Listen in as Alan offers a primer on cal-hypo, tri-chlor, and liquid chlorine. He explains the advantages of cal-hypo and best practices for applying both tabs and granular to a pool. Finally, he speaks on CCH’s® cal-hypo slow dissolving tabs and its chemical feeder, the CCH® Endurance system.

- Free available chlorine is hypochlorous acid. That is what is in the water available to kill.
- The biggest difference that you’ll notice [when swimming in a pool without cal hypo] is the look to the water—the clarity. [...] So, when you look at a tri-chlor pool next to a cal hypo pool side-by-side, even though that tri-chlor pool looks good, as soon as you look at the cal hypo pool, you’re like, “Wow!” You get much more of that Caribbean water look.
