Today I speak to Jane Dancey who is an Embodiment Coach, a Somatic Yoga Teacher, A Rites of Passage Facilitator and a Female Pelvis Educator. She says when we’re going through menopause the body can become a scary place to inhabit so no wonder we disconnect. It’s changing, we’re losing the male gaze, it feels pained, awkward and exhausted. Jane is a person who helps us rebuild a relationship with our bodies signals so that we can start to have a relationship with ourselves again. In today's episode of The Menopause Mindset Podcast here are some of the topics we cover:
What’s a 50 year old woman supposed to look like anyway
The many layers of menopause
The body as a scary place to be at menopause
Menopause as an opportunity to let go of being a certain way
Learning to accept the shape of our bodies as we go through menopause
All rites of passage involve some suffering
Living cyclically
The hidden messages of fatigue
How the body copes with coming out of lockdown
So if you're feeling that there's more to menopause than just an oestrogen deficiency, you might like this episode.
