To say that The Fast and Furious is one of cinema's most successful franchises would be an understatement. It has grossed over a billion dollars worldwide, and has generated clout for so many people involved. From Justin Lin to James Wan to Rob Cohen, people have come in and made the cars go really fast, which in turn have made people show up in droves. But how did this franchise get to be so successful? And does it deserve the drubbing critics give the majority of its films? How to follow up a billion dollar entry of an already multi successful film franchise? Why cast the high in action demand Charlize Theron and then hire F Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) of course! But high grosses didn't add up to altered egos, as Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel engaged in a war of social media words, and the two actors seemed fit to just separate into their own corners of the Fast and Furious universe.
