She became that on October 4th, 2017 when her husband, Bryan Black, and three other American soldiers were killed in an ambush by terrorist militants near the Niger/Mali border. In this episode, we discuss when she found out that her husband died, her mindset when she and her two sons received Bryan’s body at the airport, why the US military put a gag order on the survivors of the mission, the confusion on the ground in the days leading up to the ambush, the lies told to her by a high-ranking US General, what Memorial Day means to her, how all of this has affected her faith in God, and much more.
