How many times have you tried to give a word to someone out of joy, only to leave feeling like you did a bad job? So many people have tried to the best of their ability to share something about the Lord only to beat themselves up afterwards. Inwardly telling themselves what they just said was stupid, or dumb and become cast down. They think that they could have said it better and think they have rather done damage.
Others feel so embarrassed that they could not remember where a verse was written. Or they try to share a story from the word but find themselves trying so hard to say it perfectly but find they get details wrong. They become anxious and stressed out and all joy departs. Many who have experienced these things have spent years living with much too deep of introspection. Taking everything they do and say about the Lord to their high powered internal microscope that detects even the slightest speck of imperfection. They never can enjoy the sharing of the word because they are so hard on themselves. Yes, the enemy does get involved accusing them to the point they decide to never talk about their faith and love of God ever again.
The love of God within them is shut up, and the fountain becomes sealed. There is always something you can give away to a hungry soul. There is always something you have in hand to feed others with. Jesus fed the five thousand who were physically hungry through His disciples with basically nothing. We know that they all ate to the full. Even leaving plenty left over. Now you go and feed them with the eternal Bread and Living Waters that are already in you to spiritually thirsting souls. Do not care how you sound, only care that you give them something. Then after you have given it, walk away and give that upward glance to Jesus Christ, and thank Him for it. It becomes His work after it is given away.
