The Sharon Fitzmaurice Podcast
Society & Culture:Personal Journals
Episode 28 and my guest is Emma Murphy who many may recognise from her video that went viral in 2015 for all the wrong reasons. In the video Emma sits on the stairs, tears streaming down her face, her young kids in the background as She shares on social media that no man should ever hit a woman as her left eye shows the bruise left from a punch in the face from her boyfriend. She wants it to stop and to make us all aware that only when we speak up can we end the stigma around all issues of domestic abuse whether that be emotional, mental or physical violence.
Emma's video has now been viewed more than 50 million times and She has travelled all over the world to share her story and help raise awareness and empower others.
If you or anyone you know is or has been affected by Domestic Violence please call Women's Aid National Helpline 1800 341 900
