Titus 3:1-8
• Saving us from the penalty of sin
• Redeeming us from the slavery of sin
• Forgiving our sin
• Transforming us
• Placing us into an eternal relationship with God
• Guarantees our eternity
No earthly cause is more important than a person’s eternal soul.
Paul reminds us who we were:
1. It humbles us.
2. It makes us people of compassion.
3. It emphasizes how Jesus has transformed our lives.
The heart of God is on saving, redeeming, cleansing, forgiving, and making us his sons and daughters.
The gracious work of God is this:
• He saved us from who we were by his grace—not based on anything we did or could do.
• He redeemed us—we were under the penalty of death and he bought our freedom.
• He cleansed us. Our heart was stained with sin and he washed it clean.
• He forgave us of all our sins.
• He made us his sons and daughters—his heirs
• Now we wait for the full measure of that inheritance guaranteed in eternal life.
