Today on Sojourner Truth: Zeiad Abbas, Executive Director of the Middle East Children's Alliance, joins us to report on the aftermath and impact of the recent Israeli-Palestinian war and the end of the Netanyahu era. What, if anything, will change in Israeli-Palestinian relations? The labor union UNITE HERE Local 11 based in California and Arizona will join CASE Action, Black Voters Matter and others in a freedom ride from Phoenix, Arizona, to Washington, D.C., to oppose the attack on voting rights and to press for passage of the For the People Act. Our guests are Susan Minato, Co-President of UNITE HERE Local 11, which represents more than 30,000 workers in the hospitality industry in Southern California and Arizona, and Marilyn Wilbur, a hospitality worker, a union member and a voting rights advocate. Minneapolis resident and activist Marcia Howard will give us the latest on the killing of Deona Knajdek, a mother of two who died when a car rammed into protesters this past Sunday. Protesters had gathered to demand justice and transparency in the police killing of Winston Smith, who died on June 3. This follows the April 11 police killing of Daunte Wright in Minneapolis.
