The United States employed a suite of tools in the fight against Covid-19, albeit unevenly. Many states and cities put in place strict guidelines, including mask mandates, business shutdowns, and school closures. Others were more relaxed; some set restrictions, but only for a while. Vox’s Dylan Scott discusses what did and didn’t work in America’s pandemic response, and why it’s hard to even begin to figure it out.
