Mark Farner was an original member of Grand Funk Railroad. The band rose to one of the largest in the world only to realize their manager completely screwed them. Grand Funk rebuilt and eventually Mark's bandmates used deceptive practices as greed crept in to remove him from the band. Mark shares that story and rebuilding as a solo artist.
Mark Farner is the legendary all-American frontman and guitarist of Grand Funk Railroad. Mark was the engine that pulled the original Grand Funk Railroad repeatedly to the top of the charts, and today he’s a platinum recording artist 30 times over. We discuss Grand Funk's roots in Flint, Michigan, forming the band, exploding on the scene at the 1969 Atlanta Pop Festival, opening for Led Zepplin, outselling the Beatles, legal troubles with Grand Funk's manager Terry Knight, creating hit after hit, and the break up of the band. We also discuss Mark's amazing new DVD 'From Chile with Love' and what's down the road for Mark Farner.
Our Guest, Mark Farner
