How do you celebrate Independence Day? We enjoy great friends, good food, target practice, and of course fireworks! We also make time- after the food and before the fireworks- to enjoy listening to my husband read outload the Declaration of Indepedence!
What is the difference between the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence?
Take a look at our nation’s past history of Independence Day Celebrations and you’ll see that reading the Declaration of Independence was an important part of American history and that having the Declaration memorized – learned by heart– was also an expectation.
The Declaration of Independence reiterates the point and purpose of civil government: that all men, created equal, have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
