Hemp fiber prosthetic prototype for a high activity, below knee amputee
The need for an alternative to often caustic, high cost, conventional ultra light composites for prosthetic led to the invention of the first device made with hemp fiber. Sam Spallitta from Human Plant Solutions joins Joy Beckerman to talk about the advantages to using hemp and to share some of "Patient One's" success stories including competing in a 70.3 Ironman race and the Boston Marathon.
