On episode sixty-two of the Gotta Be Saints Podcast, I spoke with Becca Radzinski Anderson about finding God in Art.
Biography:
Rebecca Radzinski Anderson is an artist and currently residing in Philadelphia. She received her undergraduate degree in Communication Arts and Theology from Franciscan University and her Masters in Art Education from the University of Florida. She began creating her own art more and more during her time teaching and believes that many of the different practices, experiences, and explorations have formed her into the artist she is and will continue to be.
Artist Statement:
My personal definition of art is creative transcendence- that beautiful things point to even more beautiful things, and that, each student, composition, and idea holds the ability to communicate The Beautiful. My artistic exploits have a hybrid focus on contemporary art and iconography. I am caught up in the duality of simplistic objects and expressive figures paired with representational color, translating ancient practices of visual, religious, and socially adaptive storytelling.
