Brian, Blake and Richard are back with another episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!
Brian suffers from permanent timezone confusion and so the guys talk about universal time before they drift off onto AI powered tractors, lawn mowing meditation, and why Richard’s dad is not the lead guitar player in Saxon. Brian reveals he off to Kansas to see JHS, and will be going live with Josh this week, lets see what comes out of that meeting of minds…
Blake tells us all about his new Orange cab and was surprised by the head he found he liked the best with it. He got some interesting information direct from Orange and shares his findings with everyone.
A meme has been circulated relating to 3 stereotypical podcast hosts. Apparently all podcasts have the same three hosts and the guys wonder which apply to them. Sadly Brian doesn’t watch movies so has no idea what this means. But he has confessed to liking some Pink Floyd. Or has he? The guys then discover that if you draw a Venn diagram to figure out where the common musical thread between them is it ends up with a surprising result.
Brian has a rant about people who unnecessarily fiddle with trim pots inside their pedals. It is not something he approves of (to put it mildly). Richard invents the Scissor-Lift pedalboard (tm) and performs a fascinating radio mime to describe this. Is there a shortage of guitar strings? Blake has insider knowledge and Brian taps him up for his unique requirements, and the guys discuss coated strings.
Metallica covers, Blake and Brians impersonation of the St Anger snare sound, Canadian Les Paul purchasing, Peaches, Headless guitars, Epiphones, the dark art of truss rod tweaking, its all in this week's Chasing Tone!
