What Led Up to the Assasination of the Haitian President
On Wednesday, Haitian President Jovenel Moïse was killed in an attack at his home, destabilizing an already precarious situation in the country. For the past year, political violence has taken over the capital, Port-au-Prince, with supporters and opponents of the current government dividing the city into factions. VICE journalist Jason Motlagh brings us to the heart of the turf battle in Haiti and helps put this week’s assasination into context.
This episode was reported by Jason Motlagh and produced by Adreanna Rodriguez. Special thanks to Jason and his team, including: Adam Desiderio, Amanda Pisetzner, Jeremy Dupin and others. Watch more of their reporting in Haiti here.
