Howard Ashman and Alan Menken's collaborations changed the face of New York theater with Little Shop of Horrors, and their work for Disney on Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin defined a generation. But it was their friendship that powered the whole thing and their friendship that has helped keep their collaboration relevant after Ashman passed away.
