As the host of BaseCamp Live, Davies translates classical Christian education for the everyday person. He most recently served as the Dean of the Upper School and Head of Vision and Advancement at The Ambrose School in Meridian, Idaho, from 2012 - 2019, and before that at Heritage Preparatory School in Atlanta, GA as the Head of School and prior to that as board member for nearly a decade at the school.
After serving as an Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian in Orlando, Florida, in the late 1990s, he moved to the Silicon Valley to work with Christianity.com. He completed his doctoral dissertation on leadership and community building in a technological age. In 2001, Davies moved back to his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, where he and a former Walt Disney Imagineer co-founded BlueSky Ministries, an innovation lab for churches and non-profits.
In 2014, Davies delivered a talk on Ancient Future Education at Q, a Christian learning community for advancing the gospel in the context of culture. He is a featured speaker and consultant at numerous classical Christian schools around the country and leads at national school conferences, including the Society for Classical Learning (SCL) and the Association of Classical and Christian Schools (ACCS) where he has served as the MC and developer of their Leader’s Day program.
He and his wife, Holly, have three amazing children in high school and college. They see the consistent fruit of classical Christian education in their children’s lives. When he is not behind the microphone or consulting, he enjoys traveling and exploring the outdoors or recharging at home restoring and showing vintage Italian cars.
